On October 11, 2024, President DeWayne Frazier announced automatic promotion to the next cadre for the lead members of the AUN Renewable Energy Technical Team.
Mr. Anas Audi, Engineer Rosemary Nkannebe, and Mr. Saidu Sanusi were presented letters of promotion as Senior Laboratory Technologists in the School of Engineering (SoE), while Mr. Adeniyi Agbowu, was promoted as Senior Procurement Officer in the Procurement Department.
The President said the elevation of the four officers was in recognition of the role they have played and continue to play in transitioning the university to energy security through solar and other renewable energy initiatives.
"These exceptional employees did not ask for a promotion. Instead, they asked what they could do to create a better environment for everyone at AUN. We should reward that kind of dedication." The promotion highlights the management’s commitment to recognizing the efforts of staff who put effort into creating a positive impact on the institution and the community at large.
President Frazier said he expects the promotions to inspire a culture of continued innovation and collaboration at AUN. He hopes that this recognition will motivate others to think creatively and take initiative in addressing real-world challenges. The president encouraged all staff and faculty to approach their work with the same commitment to excellence, sustainability, and community betterment.
Professor Abubakar Sadiq Hussaini, the Dean of the School of Engineering, expressed his pride in the team and the importance of recognizing such achievements. "This is not just a win for the School of Engineering or for AUN, but a testament to the power of collaboration and innovative thinking. We are proud of Anas, Rosemary, Saidu, and Adeniyi, and all who made this possible, for their commitment to making AUN a leader in sustainability and for setting an example for others to follow."
Mr. Anas Audi, the Renewable Energy Technical Team leader, expressed gratitude on behalf of the promoted staff for the opportunity. “This gesture and opportunity given to us to explore and showcase our talent in AUN has encouraged us to further bring out our best, and we will recommit and rededicate ourselves to providing lasting solutions to our energy challenges in the most transparent and cost-effective way possible.”
One of the main highlights of President Frazier's commissioning of AUN's Renewable Energy Initiatives was the promotion exercise and letter presentation to Technical team members, with support from senior management staff, members of the University Senate, SGA, and students, as well as executives and members of sustainable clubs.
The AUN Renewable Energy Initiative activities for the day comprised the switching on of the solar light in the Robert Pastor e-library and resource center and the launch of the Stallion Intra-Campus Tricycle Services (Stallions on the Move).
