At the November 2 Campus Talk 1.0 event organized by the Entrepreneurship & Leadership Society, the lead speaker, Peter Paya said one-way students can discover themselves is by looking around themselves and recognizing what they are good at.
Mr. Paya urged the students to look at what gives them excitement and satisfaction.
"Look within yourself, what can you do effortlessly. It must not be what every other person is doing but something that gives you satisfaction. What you have to do has to excite you."
He described self-discovery as a journey. His presentation dwelled on how they can discover themselves--looking inward to identify their abilities as a basic step in the journey.
The gift of a man that makes a way for him; he illustrated this by the example of a student who graduated from the School of Business & Entrepreneurship and became a published author selling copies of her book on Amazon . It was her gift of writing that made her come to the limelight. For this, he maintained that people will never appreciate something until they see the value in it.
Third-year Natural & Environmental Science major and President of the Club, Muhammad Rabiu Balarabe, said one of the aims of the student organization is to enrich the minds of students through platforms to discuss leadership and associated topics.
Club Advisor, Shittu Ayodeji, said there is a lot of potential in the Club and lots of big activities are being planned but they are only starting with small steps.
