In celebration of the International Day for Care October 29, 2024, President DeWayne Frazier led the Students Outreach Program (SOP) on a heartfelt charity mission at the Pediatric Wards of the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital (MAUTH). The students uplifted the spirits of over 100 patients by providing them with nourishing meals.
President Frazier praised the students for their dedication and fundraising efforts, emphasizing, “This shows commitment to others because the truth is, nobody cares how much we know until they know how much we care.” He expressed pride in the SOP’s initiative and reaffirmed his continued support for their future projects.
Donald Sharibu, the Vice President of SOP, highlighted the club’s mission to apply the skills they have developed at the American University of Nigeria (AUN) by giving back to the community. “We aim to make a difference and provide support wherever possible,” he asserted.
Mrs. Priscilla Dennis, the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at the Pediatric Ward, expressed gratitude for the AUN students’ kind gesture. “This is a very good initiative we have received at this hospital. Many philanthropists come from time to time, but this support is especially timely given the hardships we are facing in the country,” she noted.
A beneficiary, Mrs. Amina Musa, also shared her appreciation for the generosity shown by the students and voiced her prayers for their successful academic journeys.
