Students Activities Expo 2022- Activities Unlimited

AUN students gathered in the Student Activities Hub on Saturday, February 5, for the students' activities exposition, an event held every semester. It is an event that has all active clubs and organizations appear in order to help Freshmen decide their extra-curricular activity, and to convince the returning students to join.

The clubs at the expo ranged from the Campus Activities Board, which is responsible for running all social activities in the university, to the Women's Leadership Council, which focuses mainly on women-related discussions. There are also organizations like the Honor Society, which comprises students with top CGPA and who use their platform to help their peers in subjects and learning methods. There are also religious organizations like the Non-Denominational Christian Fellowship for Christians, and Muslim Students Society for Muslims. Sporting and games clubs were also in attendance, like those for badminton, scrabble, and chess.

The activities expo could come off as a bit competitive. This is because clubs and organizations are trying to convince students why theirs is the best. They woo students with attractive signs, snacks, music, and other forms of entertainment. The AUN dance team performed, and outside the hub, they were provisions for students to ride bicycles.

Moyo Ajala, a Junior majoring in Software Engineering, said, "I am part of the NDCF executives, so I needed to stay there to get new members and educate people about the organization. The expo was very lively so I decided to move around and see what else I could enjoy. I went to the Badminton club and eventually left to where people were playing console games like Street Fighter. I had a good time and I could tell that from my environment people felt the same way too."

Emmanuel Wama, fourth Year Law Major, observed that some clubs were set up to help the students pick up a life skill. "The Stallion Radio, for instance, could give you the practical feel of communications. Others like the theatre club could help you discover new acting or public speaking talent. They are there to help you get to your best self."

Murna, a first-year Software Engineering student, observed that most organizers were friendly and persuasive. "I might have gotten a little carried away because I joined three: basketball, chess, and scrabble clubs. There were music, Caprisone, console games, Jenga, and bottle ring games. I had a nice time."

Mana Philip, a first-year Software Engineering student, said he enjoyed the music, the games, and the energy of the event.
