Twenty-five schoolchildren from the Yola and Jimeta neighborhoods participated in a basketball clinic hosted by the American University of Nigeria on September 13, 2023. The clinic was led by Mr. Patrick White, an American basketball trainer and motivational speaker. In the AUN indoor sports complex, the trainees were taught fundamental ball handling and dribbling skills and shooting and defensive skill sets.
The twenty-five children were divided into four teams for adequate and efficient training.
While Mr. Patrick White led one segment of the training, Mr. Ahmadu Abba, the AUN basketball coach, led another section, and top AUN student basketball players led the remaining two units.
President Frazier, who sponsored the clinic out of his love for the sport, was also present to encourage and cheer the trainees. The President displayed his dazzling basketball skills to the admiration of the kids and their coaches.
Over one hundred people benefitted from an earlier basketball training sponsored by President Frazier for kids in the neighborhood.
