What are Gen Z Lawyers up to? AUN Law Students Society Organizes Talent Show to Seek Answers

Law students can also have a good time. The AUN Law Students Society (AUNLSS) hosted a talent show on campus on October 7, 2022. The event, held at the SoL quadrangle, drew a large crowd of students who came to have fun and watch the fashion talent hunt.

Ms. Naomi Somiari, a final year law student, and Ms. Ramalan Lawal, a second year law student, hosted the show, which also featured Safiyya Auwal, Destiny Edosomwan, and Adeoti Oifeso on the panel of judges.

Ms. Esther Odumu, a fourth-year law student, opened the show with her euphonious vocals to Simi's "Complete Me." Ubaidatu Hammantukur, the next contestant, went straight for the heart with a passionate poem recitation about a mother's undiluted love. Christine Chime, the third and final contestant, brought out the rhythm in a dance performance to Burna Boy's "Jagele."

As if the contestants weren't enough, the event also included a guitar interlude by Chinedu Kalu (Chizzy Bass), and AUN artist "Detty Boy" had the audience bopping to an original single. Following his performance was a fashion show, in which the amazing female law students strutted the runway in high fashion Ankara dresses. There's a buzz in the air. Tension was high, the excitement was palpable among the contestants and spectators as they awaited for the winner's announcement. Fingers crossed but not for long as Ubaidatu Hammantukur won the grand prize of fifteen thousand Naira, leaving Esther Odumu in second place. Christine had her supporters though.

If the AUN community was eager to see what else our "Gen Z" attorneys had up their sleeves, it is safe to conclude that the next generation of legal practitioners from AUN is incredibly gifted.
