“What You See Online is What You Get" - AUN Parents Share Their Insights

Mrs. Kemi Ajiboye, a respected Estate Surveyor and Parent of an American University of Nigeria (AUN) freshman, shared her insightful reflections during the President’s Dinner, an event honoring the parents of new AUN students. The dinner occurred on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Security Section Admin I, following a comprehensive orientation program designed for new parents.

The Parent orientation commenced with the President’s welcome and a guided tour of AUN’s impressive facilities, allowing parents to understand the campus environment and the resources available to their children. They were also engaged in various sessions to gain insight into the AUN environment and wind up with the President’s Welcome dinner in the evening. This initiative was aimed at welcoming parents and providing them with an opportunity to offer constructive feedback or express appreciation for the scenic campus.

In her remarks at the dinner, Mrs. Ajiboye said that after her thorough evaluation of the university, “What you see online is precisely what you experience in person at AUN,” she stated. She recounted her journey to finding a suitable school for her son, highlighting her initial skepticism when he mentioned that AUN is in Yola. “After conducting my research, I was astonished to discover such an exceptional institution in this region of the country.”

Another parent, Mr. Rex Ezenwoko, also shared his admiration for the welcoming nature of AUN’s student body. He recalled a memorable encounter as he and his family arrived at the Yola International Airport. “As soon as we stepped out, we were greeted by a group of enthusiastic young people who asked if we were headed to AUN. Their friendliness and knowledge of the area immediately reassured me that we had chosen the right place,” he expressed.

The President’s Dinner served as a platform for parents to connect and reflect on their experiences, further strengthening the sense of community within AUN’s vibrant campus.
