Dr. Olatunji is on Sabbatical at AUN from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, where he has been employed since 2005 in the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts. At Adekunle Ajasin University, he has served as the Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Arts and as the Head of Department for the Department of Philosophy.
His area of specialization is African social and political philosophy. He also has African studies, Semiotic studies, and Metaphysics (causation), and Epistemology, and History of Philosophy (Ancient and Medieval) as his areas of interest and other areas of competence respectively.
He is a member of many local and international academic and professional associations including: African Political Philosophers Association (APPA), Philosophy Association of Nigeria (PAN), Political Philosophers Association of Nigeria (PPAN), Catholic Philosophers Association of Nigeria (CAPAN), Association of Philosophy Professionals of Nigeria (APPON), Philosophy Society of Southern Africa (PSSA) (2010-2011, 2017-2018), and many more.
Olatunji holds a Bachelor of Theology (B.Th) from the University of Urbaniana, Rome. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Ibadan. He also holds a Master’s Degree in the field of Philosophy from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko and a Ph.D in Philosophy from the University of Zululand, KwaDlangezwa, South Africa. He has done extensive work and published widely in African social, cultural and political philosophy with special interest in causation, semiology and gender. Many of his publications have appeared in local and international scholarly platforms including Scopus and Reuters journals. He is currently working on a collection titled "Alter-via: proposing the Alternative" in African indigenous thought. He has also served as reviewer and editorial board member of many local and international reputable journals.
