A representative of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) visited AUN on February 13, 2020, to inform the students about ACCA qualifications, and how to gain confidence when preparing for ACCA examinations.
ACCA's Education and Learning Manager in Nigeria, Victor Ayoola, explained the ACCA qualifications and the importance of ACCA certificate in the global market. The session was attended by Accounting majors and other ACCA informed departments.
"I want to support AUN to maximize the benefits of their accreditation and to support the students who are willing to write the examination."
Mr. Victor told the students that in whatever sector they have an interest in working, the ACCA has members who are well recognized.
"You are allowed to specialize and pursue your passion. It is necessary to take the maximum advantage of what AUN offers you."
The accountant went on to list the many advantages of ACCA, describing it as a unique qualification
which confers you an edge in the global market and gives students a strong diversification. It has a broad concept in any area of accountancy, he said.
Mr. Victor mentioned working ahead of time, watching online videos, studying past examination modules as tips to gain confidence when preparing for ACCA examinations.
The Chair of Accounting and Finance, Dr. Abiodun Isiaka, encouraged the accounting majors and those interested in writing the ACCA examination to take it seriously and make out time to study for the examination, according to her the benefits of having the ACCA qualification are overwhelming.
An accounting major, Akoh Yanilen, said that the session has encouraged her to take the examination seeing how much she stands to gain from being ACCA certified.
