AUN Career Office, Career Club Tip Students on How to Excel After School

On October 6, 2023, the AUN Career Office, in collaboration with the Career Club, held an enlightenment session in the Student Activities Hub where graduating seniors and other students learned tips on how to excel in real life after graduation, either as job creators or job takers.

Resource persons at the workshop tagged "Let's Talk About It" include the Director of AUN Career Services, Mrs. Grace Nwokoma; the President of the Career Club, Mr. Kalu Chinedu Noble; the Vice- President, Ms. Aisha Ibrahim; and the Secretary, Mr. Nnamdi Charles-Igbe. They took participating students through all the benefits of the Center with a game that revealed at the end how empty a student could be without utilizing the services of the Career Center.

At the workshop, students were trained on how to draft a catchy resume, the characteristics, and differences between a quality resume and curriculum vitae, how to build confidence, how to communicate with superiors in an interview setting, and how to approach interview questions.

Mrs. Nwokoma urged the students to make deliberate efforts to equip themselves through the services provided and become better versions of themselves.

She stressed that while academic progress matters, what one does with the acquired knowledge matters more. She also challenged them to learn how to compose and comport themselves during networking interaction, which may offer the breakthrough connection they have been waiting for.

The event featured games and other entertainment.
