The American University of Nigeria has recognized seven staff members with the 2023 Meritorious Outstanding Staff Award. The awardees were honored during the 15th Annual Founder’s Day on November 25, 2023, as part of the events commemorating the birthday of the
Founder, His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar GCON, and the founding of AUN as a university.
The AUN Outstanding Staff Awards is an annual tradition of the American University of Nigeria which is held every year, during the Founder’s Day celebration.
The Outstanding Staff Awards acknowledges staff members who have demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm and commitment in supporting their colleagues and upholding the principles and
ideals of the American University of Nigeria.
To determine their eligibility, all nominated staff go through a process of screening and interview by an 11-member standing committee, with Usoh E. Usoh of the Events & Ceremonies Unit as Chair and Hayatudeen Mohammed of Human Resources Department as Secretary
To qualify for this competitive award, a staff must have achieved a high level of performance that goes over and beyond the expected standards through contributions towards the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, maximum utilization of departmental resources, interdepartmental collaboration, and outstanding service to other employees.
This year’s recipients are;
- Wadiamu Wabada Mamza in the School of Arts and Sciences,
- Ogechi EmmanuellaDan-Okereke in the Writing Center
- Ibigbami Hadiza Oluwatoyin in the School of Graduate Studies
- Okolo Omachi in the University Library
- Isioma Anwuli Nwadike in the School of Arts and Sciences
- Daniel Waziri in the Information Technology Department
- Ibrahim Morison in the Security and Safety Department
