Students Activities Board of the American University of Nigeria (AUN) recently held a critical leadership training session for all club executives, equipping them with the mindset and abilities to effectively lead their club members.
Mr. Babalola Olajubu, a clinical psychologist, assumed the role of lead facilitator during the training session, where he expounded on the paramount importance of effective communication and team-building skills within both interpersonal and professional contexts. Additionally, Mr. Sesugh Annger, the Assistant Dean of Students, delivered invaluable insights on executive leadership and encouraged participants to ardently pursue their passions by aligning their personal preferences with their professional endeavors.
"I found myself reflecting on my decision to take on a leadership role. Despite the challenges and time commitment, I realized that being involved in something I am passionate about is truly rewarding. "It was inspiring to be surrounded by like-minded people and to be reminded of the importance of leading with the right motivation and making a positive impact on those around me," said Sambo Abba Tahir, a participant and President of the AUN Law Students Society.
The training participants expressed their gratitude to the Student Activities Board for providing invaluable contributions on how to lead and be successful leaders. They urged all aspiring leaders to take the first step by joining the club of their choice.
