AUN Senate approves two diploma courses for the Institute of Training and Innovation

On October 11, 2024, the University Senate unanimously approved two diploma courses to be offered by the AUN Institute of Training and Innovation.

The programs are Diploma in IT Systems Support and Maintenance (DITSSUM), and Diploma in Business Innovation and Marketing (DBIM).

According to information provided to the Senate leading to the approval by the Manager of the Institute and AUN’s coordinator of NYSC Mobilization, Mr. Muhammad Dauda, these programs aim to equip students with practical and in-demand skills in IT and business, empowering them to success in Nigeria’s rapidly evolving tech and entrepreneurial landscape.

Mr. Muhammad Dauda explained that the two diploma courses are “crafted to offer a balanced mix of theoretical and practical courses, placing a strong emphasis on practical experience in the industry”.

Further explaining the program structure, the manager said the institute’s certification courses would serve as the foundation of the diploma programs, while candidates need to complete a specific number of certificate courses to earn the diploma.

The diploma programs are priced competitively and will be taught by tutors with vast academic and industry experience.

Dr. Adewale James, the interim provost and vice president for academic affairs, and other university principal officers supported President DeWayne Frazier as he presided over the Senate meeting.
