Nigeria’s minister for Women Affairs, Her Excellency Dame Pauline Tallen, visited the American University of Nigeria (AUN) on Friday 5th March 2021. AUN President Dawn Dekle welcomed the honorable minister.
“Madame Minister, we at AUN are all friends of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs. I thank you for coming. We are happy that it is such an impressive entourage. Let me introduce my team. We have Dean of Student Affairs Byron Bullock, Dr. Lionel Von Rawlings, and Mr. Bello whom you know quite well. I thank you all for coming.”
Top on the agenda for the minister’s call was to check the progress of AUN’s New Foundation School as part of activities commemorating Women’s History Month.
“On behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari, I bring you greetings from Abuja. It has been a while since I last visited AUN because of COVID-19 restrictions. We are very concerned about girls remaining in school. The last time I visited, I came with Miss Nigeria. Now I am here with Miss Adamawa as a role model for the young girls to encourage them to stay in school. On behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari and the entire Nigerian women, I thank AUN for the good work." Said the honorable minister.
After the meet and greet with President Dekle, Dean Bullock, Dr. Rawlings, and Mr. Bello led the honorable minister and her entourage on a tour of the beautiful AUN campus.
